Is working in the US really that horrible for workers
Recently the Australian Government brought in new Legislation which has the Opposition Labour Party and the Union movement screaming that we will be far worse off than we were until recently and left with very little insecurity. There have been changes to the unfair dismal laws to name but one change, as far as I am concerned I still think we are still much better off than many other countries.
My question to you guys and people from other countries, but especially to the guys who work in the US is the following, this is prefaced by the statement made by many in the Labour movement, both the political and the union movement, that we are heading toward the US system, is your workplace really that bad, are you guys happy and secure, in your jobs, I do know that not all people love their jobs, but in general is the US some place where basically you are treated that bad in the workplace, or are we being conned in this fair country of ours.
I am really interested to understand just whether your conditions are that bad.
I have to admit that to date I have seen no evidence in the past in Australia which would lead me to believe that we are any better or worse off than you guys to be honest, I and many of my co workers lost our jobs with a large Financial Institution in this country in a "Restructure", no unions, even when asked came dashing to the rescue, nor did is see any evidence of fair/unfair dismissal laws saving us or many others who have been restructured out of our jobs.
