Firefox plugin delivers HTML-style audio and video browsing 9:30 AM February 13 Australia's CSIRO research organisation has developed a Firefox plugin named Annodex that allows browsing through time-continuous media such as audio and video in the same way that HTML allows browsing through text. The organisation said in a statement issued this morning that "unlike other recently released video search tools, an Annodex search delivers actual video content. Tools such as Google's beta video s...

For a long time now I have been an avid reader of JOEUSER, to the point that I would consider it to be my No: 1 favourite Blogging site, however some where along the line the high quality of debate has gone and been replaced by very narrow, unintelligent name calling banter, no debate just people critising each others political persuasion, personally the reason I started reading and replying to this site was the fact that I debated with people who may not share my view point, getting the old ...

Often when I watch TV and the show or news or whatever is from the US or Canada, I notice that you have difficulty with the H and in some cases some other letters, an example being the word herb, pronounced in most english speaking nations as HER-B not as the USA does ERB. Now some say that H should be silent, and maybe it should, however if you stick to this premis then Herbet should be pronounced Erbet, or Herd would be erd, house ouse, Horse would be ourse, however or should I say owever, ...

When I awoke today I thought Mr Bush Had a good chance of winning the Presendential election, however after I watched his intervie in the Oval office, he looked tired, and more than a little uncertain, I would have to say that he looked like someone who wishes he was somewhere else today. I believe Mr Blair is finished, however I do believe his party will retain power with a new leader, although they seem more than happy to keep him in the chair while he takes the heat. In Australia, I bel...

In todays Oval office interview with GW Bush, Mr Bush admits that mr Kay has said there are no WMDs, he goes on to say that however he did have the capability, I got a bit embarresed for him at this point , probably because we all knew that, I was he and his advisers who told us that there was more. He definitely looks like a man who wishs it would all just go away. What gets me is when they have the enquiry into the intelligence, which poor bastard is going to forced to fall on his sword, so...

Is Israel justified in their contiunal murder of Palestinians, and when you take away a countrie's and its peoples sovergnty, their ability to self defence, and they fight with what they have left are they rightfully considered as terrosists. Are these people fighting a civil war or are they attacking another country in an in just way. While I agree that their metods and targets are not right, are they any less wrong than the treatment metered out to them by Israel, whose only major difference i...

I find it interesting when reading blogs and articles in the media in general portraying the Republican Party as the extreme right and the Democrates being the caring Liberal party of the left. If we look at history the above perception is in fact very incorrect, however it does seem that the Republican party somewhere ov the last 60 to 70 years moved away from a position of overtly being the liberal party of concience for middle America and the Paternal Intellegencier, to a more conservative...

I know that most of you guys are dedicated Windows people, and so am I otherwise how could I skin , which I will admit is something I really have relegated to my list of favourite hobbies, and am starting to realise the potential that the group of Stardock products give one who is involved in Web development and Corporate Image Design, that said I also have a strong affection for Linux, so much so that I am slowly including it in my consulting business as it becomes relevant to my Clients. R...

I often find especially with MAC users a sense of superiority, when it comes to OSs, some of this was true, however the reality is that whatever your need is today there is an OS out there for you. I am generally a windows user, partly because any thing I can do on a Mac I can now do in windows, plus I am a big Stardock Junkie, and am always happy to get my friends hooked as well, probably I am a control freak and like my machines to look and work the way I like. This said I also have a bu...

The question of whether the previous Iraqi Government was a security risk has been debated, many times, however I would like to add a few comments to this debate which seem to have been overlooked. These being , was or is there a security risk to the US main land, was there a connection to Oshama, or is the real risk to US interests in the middle east. After spending my extended christmas break bonning up on the history of the so called rogue state and the involvement of various US adminis...

I always find it interesting that when ever we hear a speech from the US administrations through the years, they always refer to the defence of the US and its demoracy. Yet they do not seem to have the same regard for their treatment of other countries. On almost every occasion when the US govenment has interfeered with another countries soverignty, it has been for the defence of the US, the attack of many Sth American countries, Chile spings to mind, when the US admistration, supported the Mili...

I have two Offices, one at home and one in the city, This is where I go when heatwaves hit and to meet with clients, the rest of the time I work at home, yeah yeah, cut to the chase> When I am at home I sometimes have the TV on, as I do today, Since I started today at approx 7.30am up till now 1.00pm AEST, I have very little else tham Michael Jackson, and sinnipts about GW in the UK and the bombings in Turkey, it's very sad that the media would be so obsessed with stories like this, personally w...
